Guidelines:
(1) Participants must respond to a minimum of 3 blog posts per week.
Participation will be documented on a weekly basis.
(2) All participants are encouraged to respond to peers to move the thinking of the group forward.
In kindergarten we do, but there often isn't very many, if any and for that matter we don't have our kinders tested till the end of Feb. I know one thing that helps with the gifted cluster is the amount of resources.
ReplyDeleteOnce students are definitively identified, it is useful to keep them together for many reasons. The number one reason as cited in the Cluster Model Handbook (p.3, bottom of first column & repeated right after near top of the 2nd column of the same page) is to help a school district with its budget.
ReplyDeleteHowever, my favorite reason is that they can start learning to work together to advance their own learning. These students begin to see the power of study groups. These groups are a key component of successful college students. Especially those who are working on advanced degrees.
