Question 1

How much repetition is needed for gifted students to master a concept?

  1. I do not work with gifted students on a daily basis but did some research on this topic. Studies show that 9-15 repetitions of material are needed for the average student to learn. Gifted students, however, may need as few as 1-3 repetitions to learn that same material. Wondering if these numbers are accurate? Does anyone care to agree or disagree?

  2. One of the traits we look for in students to determine if they should be tested or not is how quickly they learn a concept. These students do indeed need fewer repetitions than the average student. What is a more important aspect of gifted instruction is not the number of repetitions of material, but rather the nature of the repetitions. These students find simple repetition of the same concept tedious (even if they could use some more practice with the concept in question). It is crucial then, to vary the type of repetition the students are encountering.

  4. 您说,那许多重复能使一个好人行动以一个坏习惯? 如果那样,我不同意。 如果重复是变化,并且有趣学生也许然后享受它。
